Masking Tape Race

I decided to stage a litte sexy tape photoshoot in my kitchen.

Its not that i was bored, its just that i was trying to avoid doing housework with my partner so pretended that i was doing important design work.

I like how the gridded masking tape (in the centre) managed to find its way into my shoot. Just like in my previous posting, the grid tape can fit into any kind of situation. Its like the weather of the conversation world.

Then I decided to hold a tape race up the wall in my kitchen. It was neck and neck.

Until the decorative white and red tape surged ahead egged on by my new garbage bin.

I like how my marc newson draining tray and barbrantia touch bin also feature in my glamorous tape photo shoot.

All in a days work.

I later found out that my cat darwin is also a fan of tape.

He favoured the red tape at first.

Then picked the winner and took off with the white decorative tape.

Time to buy christmas tape yet?

I knicked these tape images from a site which sent me some links (thanks) called free people. They showed this cool tape from Present & Correct - which is a really CUTE stationery site where you can also actually buy the tape shown here below and its really not all that expensive. (see my 'where to buy' growing list on the right-hand column)

I love how these three tapes sit together. They are designer-christmassy rather than kitsch christmassy which would appeal say more to graphic designers than... american housewives but i love all types of tape so how could i possibly discriminate.

The grid tape isn't really christmassy i have to say... but it snuck into the pile so ... i guess we could make an exception. So DITCH the cheap nasty christmas paper and go down to ikea, steal a whole load of brown paper from the self-packaging area, buy a roll of this and then wrap your credit crunch presents up in this lovely stuff and no one will even care that you made them a decorated picture frame for xmas.

Do Not Get Cross Tape

This is my desk at work showing my "do not get cross" tape, a play on the 'do not cross' police tape used at crime scenes by famous UK graffiti artist Banksy.

This is the other one that goes with it - the 'Polite Line' tape someone used to outline my desk at work. Thanks Dave!

Laundry Bag Tape

This has got to be my favourite tape of the week. Its a roll of packing tape with laundry bag graphic print. Perfect for mending those cheap bags that everyone finds extremely handy when moving house.

This tape link was sent in by Vladimir so if you want to get hold of it (like i do) it is available from this amazing tape on-line store. http://store.artlebedev.ru/office/tape/

Shoe making tape from Lineapelle

I have come to discover many types of industry specific tape and recently at a shoe fair in Bologna, Italy, came across this stand selling - yes, shoe making tapes. I couldn't resist taking a few photos.

Not being a shoe-maker myself, i am not really 100% sure what the specific applications of the tape are but they come in a range of different widths.

From linen tapes, plastic and all with a range of stickiness, i'd really like to get my hands on a home-display of tape like this.

Note, the shoe salesman in the background.
